Description

In this version of the North America Nebula I attempted to reduce noise and give more accurate colors to the nebulosity and the stars. To do this I stretched the image less agressively and only reduced the color gradient, not the brightness gradient. I also increased the red ratio slightly to bring out the nebulosity and increased the green ratio slightly to reduce the blue color cast to the background. While the nebula is redder it is softer having less contrast with the dark areas. Like all of my images this one could benefit from much greater integration time.

The imaging was performed unguided with an unmodified camera. The image was reduced prior to processing using Startools software "binning" set to 33.33 percent (3x3). Binning after processing seems to produce the same result but takes longer.
