Description

Taken in rural area in the yellow zone south of Olympia where my son lives. Trying out the Canon 60D's sRaw to find out if DSS accepts it. Also trying out the ISO 6400 setting. Could not figure out how to activate the long exposure noise reduction (automatic darks). Pointing camera at the southern horizon as Orion sinks below the treeline. Significant star trailing at 20mm and 25 second exposure because this includes the celestial equator. That is Jupiter in Gemini.

Original image: The uploaded image is the jpeg straight out of the camera.

Image B: The uploaded image is the jpeg straight out of the camera, duplicate uploaded in error.

Image C: The sRaw was processed in DSS to verify that works. It was cropped slightly, then binned 2x2 in Startools to get rid of the star trails, developed to darken the sky, used the Live module to emphasize the brighter stars in hopes the Astrobin plate solve will recognize them. This image is under half the size of the Original and image B, the resolution displayed in the tech notes is an astrobin error.
