Description

Abell 15 (PK233.16.1) is a very tiny planetary nebula in Canis Major, measuring only 0.5 arc-minutes across. It is round with a stronger outer rim and weaker inner area, with a very bright but tiny blue star in the center. Its magnitude is 15.8 but seems stronger than that for my image. The pure RGB image shows it well but dim. The color of this Oiii/Ha enhanced version exactly matched the color displayed in the RGB version.

At my latitude Abell15 transits at 28 degrees, degrading the image quality some. I had to throw a much larger portion of images away than usual.

Abell 15 is a rarely imaged target, this being only the second image on Astrobin.
