Description

Barnard 33 HorseHead Nebula, NGC2023 reflection nebula below it to the left, Alnitak (the large star) is the eastern most star in Orion’s Belt, and then below it is NGC2024 the Flame Nebula. Located about 1300 light years from Earth in the constellation of Orion and photographed over three nights over a span of a month thanks to La Niña weather impacting the east coast of Australia. This is a narrowband image made up of 6 hours of hydrogen alpha data and 6 hours of sulphur two data, using 7 minute exposures. All shot from the north side of Brisbane Australia under bortle 6 skies. Stacked and processed in PixInsight
