Description

IC 2944, also known as Running Chicken Nebula, in reallity is an open cluster embedded in a emission nebula found in constellation Centaurus, near Lambda Centauri. The nebula shows some Bok Globes, which are associated to an area of active star formation, although there is no evidence of star formation in the Bok Globes present in IC 2944.

This image has been captured by JC Diniz, JA Mattei and myself during three days. It was used a Q-65, a short refrator with 65mm and f/6.5 on a EQ-6 mount.

The subs were 20 minutes for the Ha, O3 and S2 narrow band filters. In total, 10 sub-frames per filter has been captured.
