Description

A rather strange looking edge-on spiral, NGC 7241 was described by Fritz Zwicky as 'Edge-on spiral, tremendous absorption lane and various large blue compact patches'. Something odd is going on here to explain the bluish section of the nucleus.

The tiny faint edge-on galaxy to the right of ngc 7241 is UGC 11964, at mag 14.5.
