Description

This object is a Seyfert double ring spiral galaxy located 100 million light years away in the constellation of Lynx at a declination of +61 degrees.  It is a magnitude 13.5 galaxy which spans 3.5 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a diameter of 100,000 light years.

I love the bright short inner arms of this galaxy silhouetted against the inner lens disk and surrounded by 2 fainter outer rings.  This object is one of only a few galaxies we have seen in the universe which have 2 closed outer rings.
