Description

Messier 6 (NGC 6405)

A reminder of summer, taken from the backyard during the NeoWise period with the 127mm refractor. It is one of the celestial objects discovered by Giovanni Battista Hodierna from Ragusa, around 1654.

The name of Hodierna will not say much even to the Italian amateurs themselves, yet he has discovered and reported a good number of "nebulae" with rudimentary telescopes, including M33 in the Triangulum.
