Description

NGC 3718

I have not managed to get the fainter parts of this very well, in fact more recently contrast seems more of a problem recently in my skies. I have a nasty feeling its due to the increase of LED lighting in the area.

Situated in the constellation Ursa Major, NGC 3718 is a spiral galaxy approximately 52 million light years away. It s believed that its shape has been warped by the gravitational forces between it and another spiral galaxy nearby NGC 3729 which it around 150,000 light-years away from it.
