Description

M97, The Owl Nebula is a starburst nebula approximately 2,030 light years away in the northern constellation Ursa Major. The estimated age of the Owl Nebula is about 8,000 years. It is approximately circular in cross-section with faint internal structure.

M108 is a barred spiral galaxy in the northern constellation Ursa Major. It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781 or 1782. From the Earth, this galaxy is seen almost edge-on. This galaxy is an isolated member of the Ursa Major Cluster of galaxies in the local supercluster. Source: Wikipedia

Processing note: This was a particular color balance challenge due to the brightness of this image. This particular part of the sky caused RGB filter reflections and only occurs near certain targets. A slight RGB reflection band(s) can be seen near M108 in the lower right. I have working to isolate the reflections and narrowed it to the RGB filters themselves. NB filters from the same manufacturer do not display this behavior and other parts of the sky do not exhibit these RGB bands.
