Description

The Jellyfish Nebula is a supernova remnant in Gemini about 5,000 light-years away. This is narrowband S/H/O data combined in a way that tries to approximate "real" color. There is quite a bit of S2 in this object, so don't skip that filter if you're imaging this yourself. To process, I created a "super-luminance" image combining subs from all filters since there was so much useful data in S2 as well as Ha.

Been having a lot of trouble with my guide camera lately, so the resolution isn't as good as I would like. But it's still a pretty image.

I had to crop almost half of the image due to the glare from a very bright star just "below" the jellyfish. Hope to revisit this next season with some learnings under my belt.
