Description

This is relatively wide-field view (2.5 x 1.67 deg.) of the Pelican Nebula (IC 5070 and IC 5067) using a fast (f/1.9) system. This is an H-alpha emission region 1800 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus. The gaseous contortions of this nebula (center) resemble a pelican, giving rise to its name. It is located near the star Deneb, and is divided from the better know North America Nebula (part shown in upper left) by a cloud of dark dust.

No guiding. North is down in the photo.
