Description

Messier 106 is an intermediate spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. It  is at a distance of about 22 to 25 million light-years away from earth. M106 is large and bright,  similar in size and luminosity to the Andromeda Galaxy.

Two years ago, I had to drive to the ranch to collect data for M106. I collected two nights data and created my 1st version of M106. The image is encouraging, but not great. Last year we built a remote observatory on same ranch. I was able to give my 2nd try at the end of year and spent as much time as it takes.
