after a year of abstinence, my Apo TS 65Q was back in use. After almost 3 months finally an astrophoto.

The area around the propeller nebula is a very interesting H-alpha area. Simeis 57 at the top right of the images is a faint emission nebula in the constellation Cygni. It is found around 4 ° north-northwest of the bright star "Sadr" (Gamma Cygni). Because of its shape, it is also called "Propeller Nebula". It is part of the huge molecular cloud "Cygnus X", which is believed to be around 4,600 light years away. The reflection nebula complex VdB 131/132 with surrounding dark nebulae can be seen at the bottom left of the picture. Distance about 4,000 light years.

The modified 80D has once again shown its strengths. My result that I am showing here is a mixture of the red channel from the last year and an H-alpha recording that was taken a few days ago. The conditions on May 8th, 2021 weren't the best, but a chance to win another astro shot.

nach einem Jahr Abstinenz war mein Apo TS 65Q wieder im Einsatz. Nach fast 3 Monaten endlich mal ein Astrofoto.

Die Gegend um den Propellernebel ist ein sehr interessantes H-Alphagebiet. Simeis 57 oben rechts im Bild, ist ein schwacher Emissionsnebel im Sternbild Schwan (Cygni). Man findet ihn rund 4° nordnordwestlich des hellen Sterns "Sadr" (Gamma Cygni). Aufgrund seiner Form trägt er auch den Namen "Propellernebel". Er ist Teil der riesigen molekularen Wolke "Cygnus X", die vermutlich ca. 4.600 Lichtjahre entfernt ist. Unten Links im Bild ist der Reflexionsnebelkomplex VdB 131/132 mit umgebenden Dunkelnebeln zu sehen. Entfernung etwa 4.000 Lichtjahre.

Die modifizierte 80D hat wieder einmal ihre Stärken gezeigt. Mein Ergebnis, dass ich hier zeige ist eine Mischung des roten Kanals aus dem vorigen Jahr und einer H-Alpha-Aufnahme, die vor ein paar Tagen entstand. Die Bedingungen am 8.Mai 2021 waren nicht die Besten, aber eine Chance wieder mal eine Astroaufnahme zu gewinnen.
