Description

Located about 800 LY away, the Vela Supernova Remnant was formed about 11,000 years ago in the aftermath of a Type II Supernova. This image at 135mm focal length captures only a portion of the remnant structure which gives you an idea of its immense size!

After seeing some amazing shots of this area on Astrobin, I decided to bring out the Samyang 135mm lens with the new ZWO camera adapter I picked up. I think I messed up the backfocus a bit which resulted in some coma in the corners (combined with shooting fast at f/2.4), but overall I'm happy with how the combination worked out.

I hope you enjoy!
