Description

It has been some time since I have imaged the Orion Nebula.  But I wanted to try it again with my setup in Chile.  I also wanted to try my hand at mixing Ha into an LRGB image.  The telescope is an RH200 and I am using an older Aspen 16M CCD with the 16803 chip.  These sensors produce some nice images.  Capture was done in PRISM on a Paramount MX+ mount using Protrack, so no guiding.  The Ha was 900 seconds and the model held up well.  Post-processing was done using Pixinsight.  I processed the RGB , Lum, and Ha separate.  Once I had the RGB were I wanted it I then mixed in the Luminance at 70%.  Color correction and saturation was done with curves transformation. The starless Ha was then mixed in with Pixel Math. This by far has been my best image of Orion,  maybe in a few years I visit it again.
