Description

Abell 85, or Ctb-1, is a neon-oxygen-rich supernova remnant.
Due to the massive stellar explosion of about 15 solar masses, this expanding shell of gas called Ctb-1 was created. It extends about 100 light years.
Located in the constellation Cassiopeia about 10,000 years ago.

Sh2-170 is a small emission nebula.
At its center is a small, young star cluster, Stock 18. The bright star at the center of the nebula ionizes the surrounding hydrogen gas, causing the nebula to glow. The nebula is about 2/3 the diameter of the full moon.
