Description

The is a beautiful unbarred spiral galaxy over 100Mly away in Aries. I imaged this during the lunar cycle on nights before the moon came up then switched to Ha for the rest of the evening. I could see some faint knots in the Ha data that was cleaned from the broadband R, but none of those came through when I added it to the RGB data. In any event, I was very happy with the detail in the galaxy that was resolved from average seeing skies here east of Phoenix (helped along by deconvolution).

I was amazed when processing the starless images just how many tiny fuzzy galaxies are in the background. This target las lots of beauty to study. Enjoy.

Title: Exact Same Processing but using the New Spectrometric Color Calibration tool in Pixinsight

Description: The Original version used the Photometric Color calibration tool. Spectrometric Color Calibration gave a slightly less red color balance ( about 10% less than original version). Very impressed that I can tune the tool to my exact sensor and filters. And it worked incrediblyfast. Give it a try.

Title: Reprocessed with BlurXterminator

Description: Streams of clouds and rain have shut down the skies in Arizona to falling starlight, so I decided to relook at some recent data. I have used BLurXterminator instead of Pixinsight deconvolution in this version. I get a little better sharpness of the galaxy details as well as a little better control of color halls on the larger stars. I also have been staying how to better use GHS and applied some of those lessons.
