Description

Orion Nebula – M42

The Great Orion Nebula in the Orion constellation is a very bright nebula easily seen with binoculars or even with the naked eye. This is a region of new star formation about 1,200 light years from Earth. M42/Orion is the largest nebula in this picture. The Running Man Nebula, is fainter and is near the left edge of the photograph.

I took this picture on October 8, 2010, in Sharon, Georgia. Total exposure was 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Equipment:

Lens – Stellarvue SV105 Refractor f/7,

Mount – Takahashi EM200 Temma 2,

Guidescope – Stellarvue SV70,

Camera – Modified Canon xsi,

Sub Length – Blend - 8 minutes, 1 minute, 10 sec,

ISO - 1600,

ilter - Hutech LPS
