Description

And again Tycho. This time as a close-up. A somewhat semi-oblique view from the west into the 4850m deep impact crater with its 1600m high central mountain. The crater diameter is 86 kilometers.

The impact around 100 million years ago must have been quite loud, considering that the ejected material has flown up to 1500 kilometers. The radiation system still proves this today.

I was probably lucky that seeing at that moment allowed reasonably good pictures at 5080mm focal length with the 2.5x Barlow.

I stacked 400 frames out of 5000 frames at 65 fps with an exposure time of 6.6 ms and a gain of 236. In the final processing with Lightroom, I deliberately chose a relatively high amount of contrast to emphasize the radiation system. That is certainly a matter of taste.

I will follow Rudi's recommendation and try to create the same image again, but this time without the 2.5xBarlow. Fortunately, I recorded Tycho in the Prime Focus without Barlow that same evening. I am very excited to see how the result will look in comparison.

I think that will be the end of my current Tycho phase. There is so much more to see on the moon ...

As always, I look forward to recommendations and harsh criticism.
