Description

This is my first attempt of the season of the Rosette, which rises just before dawn. It is the first time I have imaged this object with the ASI 1600. Given the time constraints -- I only get about an hour and change to image this before dawn lightens the sky, this is a preliminary image. Taken over two early mornings in mid-September, the image is composed of 10, 360-second subs taken through the Ha filter and 8, 180-second subs taken through the R, G, and B filters (8x180s through each filter).

Over the course of the next four months, I hope to add at least 10 more hours of exposure to this object.
