Vi presento una parte del Mare frigoris particolarmente interessante perchè piena di strutture di diversa natura.

Innanzi tutto, come dal titolo, è in bella mostra la bellissima Rima Sheepshanks. E' un obiettivo particolarmente importante per gli astroimagers di hires lunare in quanto non è facile risolverla nella sua completezza. La rima taglia il Mare Frigoris per ben 200 chilometri da Est a Nord-Est. Come vedete in alto a sinistra c'è il cratere Sheepshanks, appena sotto il dettagliatissimo cratere C. Mayer B, che gli ha dato il nome ed è quasi completamente in ombra a causa della particolare librazione lunare. Sotto la rima nella parte opposta verso Sud c'è il bel cratere Galle molto frastagliato con le pareti ben visibili. Quasi alla fine della rima in alto c'è Democritus B con il piccolo cratere attaccato e ben risolto con una vetta centrale davvero interessante. Infine verso destra potete notare il grande cratere Gartner con la sua bella rima appena accennata. In altre immagini vi farò vedere la rima in tutta la sua risoluzione.

In basso a Sud invece c'è, appena accennato, il grande Aristoteles. A proposito di quest'ultimo è davvero di nota analizzare le "ejecta" ed le formazioni create dall'espulsione di materiale roccioso a seguito dell'impatto per la sua formazione. Tutta la zona che va da sinistra a nord di Aristoteles è frastagliata da micro crateri a catena davvero ben risolti come ovvia conseguenza dell'espulsione descritta sopra.

Infine aggiungo che è stata una sorpresa per me poter vedere finalmente la rima così risolta in maniera del tutto naturale e senza quindi le solite elaborazione forzate per tirarla fuori.

I present you a part of the Mare frigoris particularly interesting because of the full structures of a different nature.

First of all, like the title, is on display the beautiful Rima Sheepshanks. It is a very important goal for astroimagers of lunar hires since it is not easy to solve it in its entirety. The rhyme cuts the Mare Frigoris for over 200 kilometers from east to north-east. As you can see in the upper left there is the crater Sheepshanks, just below the very detailed crater C. Mayer B, which gave the name to rhyme and it is almost completely in shadow because of the particular lunar libration. Under the rhyme on the opposite side to the south there is the beautiful crater Galle with its beautiful walls visible. Almost at the end of the rhyme at the top there is Democritus B with the small crater attacked and well resolved with a central peak really interesting. Finally, to the right, you can see the large crater Gartner with its beautiful rhyme just mentioned. In other images I'll show you the rhyme in its full resolution.

In the lower South instead there is, just mentioned, the great Aristoteles. About the latter is really of note to analyze the "ejecta" and the formations created by the expulsion of rock material due to the impact of his creation. The whole area that goes from left to north of Aristoteles is full of micro-craters and chain craters really well resolved as an obvious consequence of the expulsion described above.

Finally I would add that it was a surprise for me to finally see the rhyme so resolved in a natural way and without the usual forced processing to pull it out.
