Description

M104 is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo located 28 million light years from Earth. It has a bright nucleus, an unusually large central bulge, and a prominent dust lane in its inclined disk. Known as the Sombrero Galaxy, M104 was discovered in March 1767 by Pierre Méchain, and officially listed as M104 in 1921. (Source Wikipedia).

Used the Meade 12"LX200 at F7.5. Employed 113 subs at ISO1600 and 5 minutes each (9.42hr) on 4/17 (34), 4/18 (23), 4/20 (21), and 4/21 (35). Processing was done with PixInsight. This is a slight crop -- North is up. This is intended as the final image.

Used an additional 100 subs at ISO1600 and 30s each(0.83hr) with PI's HDR Composition tool to tease a little more info out of the galaxy's center. Not sure this helped much.

Overall, I'm fairly satisfied with the results.
