Description

I made a rather half-hearted attempt last night to capture something as a storm blew itself out with the promise of an interlude to the low pressure, which has dogged the UK over recent weeks. Given the less than ideal conditions, I thought I'd try some wider field shots with my camera lens rig (https://www.astrobin.com/pbf08l/?nc=user).

30 minutes was wasted trying to get my autoguider to work - a dodgy homemade ST4 cable, which in the event I probably didn't need for the 2 minute subs at f4 through a 210mm piggyback lens. A very bright moon, and increasing haze, considerably reduced the seeing, but I managed 30m before calling it.

These were stacked and aligned in Envisage and then processed in Startools. Given the noise and far from pinpoint stars, I decided to use this to my advantage, by isolating the nebula to try and breathe some life into it, and repairing the brighter stars. Nevertheless these have an annoying halo around them, and some dust motes have been patched up in my rather half-hearted attempt.
