Description

Messier 22 (also known as M22 or NGC 6656) is an elliptical globular cluster in the constellation Sagittarius, near the Galactic bulge region. It is one of the brightest globulars that is visible in the night sky. M22 is one of the nearer globular clusters to Earth at a distance of about 10,600 light-years away and is estimated to be around 90-110 light-years in diameter. (wikipedia.org)

I took this image in the summer of 2013 shortly after I purchased my AT8IN but before any coma correction. This image is also unguided. Unfortunately, I lost the original RAW data and am unsure how many subs were included, but I am certain the exposures were fairly short, probably between 60 and 120 seconds each as that was the limit of my tracking at the time. This image was processed with PixInsight from a linear TIF created with DeepSkyStacker.
