Description

The Iris Nebula (NGC 7023/Caldwell 4) is bright (magnitude 6.8) reflection nebula in the constellation Cepheus, spanning 6 light years across and about 1,300 light years from the Solar System. The Iris is surrounded by large areas and lanes of dark dust that are difficult to image from suburban skies, but some traces of this dust is visible here.

B Version re-processed to lift up dust from the background and to try to give the dust some of the characteristic brown I've seen in other images.
