Description

The Orion Nebula, also known as Messier 42 or NGC 1976, is a diffuse nebula located south of the Orion belt.6 It is one of the brightest nebulae that exist, and can be observed with the naked eye over the night sky. It is located 1270 ± 76 light years from Earth, 2 and has an approximate diameter of 24 light years. Some documents refer to it as the Great Orion Nebula, and the oldest texts call it Ensis, a Latin word that means "sword", a name also received by the star Eta Orionis, which from Earth is seen very close to the nebula .

One of my first astrophotography captures around 2016, I always had a bit of resentment at not being able to include the running man nebula (The running man nebula, NGC 1977) but the FOV of my camera / Telescope is not enough so a mosaic was needed.

This mosaic was captured on 3 non-consecutive days (11/25/2019, 12/27/2019 and 02/01/2020) includes information with LRGB filters and alpha hydrogen data with several exposure times to preserve the trapezium core.

I hope you like it.
