Description

I have imaged the Veil on several occasions before with a DSLR. This is my first attempt in narrow band. While I like LRGB imaging for the colors it brings out, there is no denying that this particular object just shines in narrow band.

The technicalities aside, I feel a stronger connection to the Veil than any other object I've imaged. The oxygen we breathe, the carbon that forms the backbone of organic molecules, the heavy elements that are so essential for life - all these were forged in the cores of large stars that ended their lives in the way that the star that formed the Veil did. And in so doing, seeded the Universe with the elements from which life was formed.

The colors of the Veil are the colors of Life.

Description: Reduced star sizes a bit. I can never seem to find the right balance between stars and the nebulosity!
