Description

M33 under Bortle 4 skies and "First light" for my new ZWO EAF autofocuser. Even though it is the second largest galaxy in the northern skies, was the Triangulum Galaxy never really on my bucket list of prime targets. But now I´ m glad that I tried it last night.

I was always a bit hesitant despite the comparably low surface brightness and (imo) the difficult-to-see spiral structure. However, I have the feeling it did came out not too bad. Even NGC604, one of the largest known H-II regions is well visible. Originally I planned with about 2 hrs more data but faced some software issues in the beginning. So, I lost a bit time and around two in the morning the moon started to kick in. Guiding could have been a bit better too but hey, happy after a looong time of bad weather and my ZWO EAF is working super fine with EKOS too 😃

Description: I added 1:45 hrs of l-eNhance data (extracted Ha) and refined a bit the overall appearance of the image. Overall exposure time is now almost 6 hours.

Description: Slighty tuned the curves to darken the background a bit more as I saw that on mobile screens it was too bright

Description: Once more reprocessed to combine the available data better. The last version was a bit too blurred and I think this nes stack from PixInsight is doing better.
