Description

This is an image I've wanted for many months, and I'm extremely happy with the result! This is a bit improvement on my old Andromeda photo which was shot from the city.

This was shot over 2 nights in a rural bortle 4 sky, and it really shows in the beautiful fainter details. The red regions dispersed throughout are the emission nebulae in the galaxy, more easily visible in the Hydrogen alpha wavelength I have combined with my RGB. This was also the first time I managed to spot this galaxy in the sky with my unaided eye! .

The Andromeda Galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy, around 2.5 million light-years from earth, and the nearest Major Galaxy to the milky way.  The number of stars in the Andromeda galaxy has been estimated at 1 trillion. .
