Description

Here we have an attempt at one of the many Milky Way satellite galaxies, The Draco Dwarf Galaxy or UGC10822.  This is located about 230,000 light years away in the direction of Draco and about 34.6° above the galactic plane.  It is thought to contain large quantities of dark matter perhaps making it the highest known dark matter concentrated object.  There are two stellar populations, one very old containing metal poor stars and another that was the result of a starburst period about 2 or 3 billion years ago containing a more metal rich population.  Lots of variable stars and little dust and gas.  So all in all, although not very interesting to look at, a very interesting subject. -credit Wikipedia entry

I really like this subject even though it is far from a spectacular galaxy.  I was very pleased with the foreground Milky Way stars, particularly the nuance of the color in them.  There are a number of background galaxies visible in the field and because of its location above the plane of our galaxy, it seems there is a bit of galactic cirrus or perhaps even IFN visible in the field.

This was a very enjoyable project, I hope you like the result!  Comments and criticism always encouraged and of course, clear skies and good health!
