Description

My first try on mixing a narrow band image with its RGB counterpart. I used the Optolong L-eXtreme Ø 2 filter to better capture the emission of the Nebula in the H-alfa and OIII wavelengths. And then, the Baader UV/IR-Cut/L 2 in shorter expositions to better capture the color of the stars.

This object is located in the Monoceros region, between the well know constellation of Orionis and Gemini, at a distance of 5,200 light-years, and a diameter of 130 light-years. It encompasses the emission nebula, catalogued as NGC 2237, and a open cluster, NGC 2244, roughly the bright stars on the center.
