Description

The weather has not been pleasant in the last three weeks, but yesterday there was a small "window" of a few hours with partly clear sky at Big Sur. Yesterday most of the day was near 100% cloudy, and I took Highway 1 along the Pacific coast. By the time I reached the Big Sur area, it was already 6:20 PM. The weather was chilly due to the wind coming from the ocean. In the evening the half of the sky was covered with clouds (South) and the second half was clear (North-North East).

I stopped the car in the area of the Great Sur Turnout because it has a panoramic view towards North-North East. And I started taking photos. The main problem was the intensive traffic of cars along Highway 1. From 20 shots I took, I had only two successful due to the light pollution from the car's headlights.

Overall I had a nice weekend gateway with a little bit of astrophotography.

I always keep my Canon and tripod into standby mode for nightscapes. As soon as the weather opens an opportunity I am at the right location and the right time.
