Description

Finally able to produce something!

NGC 7380 is a cluster of stars surrounded by the emission nebula known as the Wizard Nebula......... looks more like a kidney to me; all located in the constellation Cepheus.

I know many do not image during the summer but I believe its always worth the effort especially when learning, as a result there were a few problems as I had bright summer evening skies, high latitude, multiple sessions, bright moon, thin high level cloud and LP from Malmö city, so post processing was an extreme challange - trying to get the best result using both APP, Siril & GIMP. One of my main learnings here is that my calibration frames can be a bit better as the extreme conditions really highlight issues. I opted to use the data as was frmo the L-eNhance (not seperating the channels) and try and maintain some fidelity. What is becoming apparent is a mono camera would be a huge benefit in such conditions.

Anyway this was captured over the course of the month of July comprising of 9 sessions with varied conditions. My main objective right now is to push the boundaries of my current gear and software.

Hope you enjoy
