Description

NGC 2403, a beautiful nearby spiral galaxy in the constellation Camelopardalis. It is a member of M81 Group and one of the closest neighbors of the Milky Way. NGC 2403 does not have a pronounced stellar bulge, but sports a well-developed spiral structure with prominent HII regions associated with recent and ongoing star-forming activity. Based on its observational properties, NGC 2403 is often compared with M33. The galaxy was a site of one of the closest and brightest supernovae, SN 2004dj.

This LHaRGB image is a combination of broad-band (LRGB) and narrow-band (H-alpha) exposures taken in February-March 2020 and January 2021 with my mobile setup, the 250 mm f/4 Lacerta PhotoNewton and ZWO ASI183MM Pro camera on the Orion HDX-110 EQ-G mount.
