Description

Inspired by RBA's From California to the Pleiades from 2013 (a mosaic using a Takahashi FSQ), using 135mm and Canon 6D (full frame sensor) to see how much can fit in the field of view. The first hour result is from part of the night during a new moon at a dark sky site in NC (Pettigrew State Park) 9/29/2019. The second result adds 1.7 hrs more data from another dark sky site in NC (Staunton River State Park) 10/24/2019.

In the first set, all the subframes were at f/2.2 and ISO 800. I learned after that trip that the Samyang wide open at f/2.2 results in somewhat butterfly shaped artifacts around bright stars up close.

So the second set is at f/2.8 and ISO 1800. I used GradientMergeMosaic after aligning the masters from the two nights.
