On 2021 July 19 I could observe and measure the transit of the
Super-Earth class exoplanet Gliese1214b (GJ1214 b).
Due to suboptimal conditions (bright Moon near to target) the obtained data is not very good,
but good enough for the transit confirmation.
I submitted the data to TRESCA (TRansiting ExoplanetS and CAndidates.), and the transit was confirmed :-)
GJ 1214 b is a super-Earth planet discovered in 2009
Radius : 2.64 x Earth radius
Orbital period : 1.58 days
Mass : 6.55 x xEarth mass
It is the first super-Earth around which an atmosphere has been found.
Observations from the Hubble telescope have revealed that
GJ 1214 b's atmosphere may be composed mostly of water vapor.
It is therefore assumed that the planet itself consists to a large extent of water.
This would make it a so-called ocean planet.
