Description

As a start to my new year's resolutions I needed to process a narrowband data set:

This is something of a first for me. Narrowband imagery is not something I have been able to do in my career so far. I knew what to do in principle, but in *practice* is always another thing. So here is my first attempt. This data is from  #TelescopeLive  services. It was made available to members for a contest last year.

My workflow in all of its devilish details is available in my Horizons collection of instructional videos (at http://AdamBlockStudios.com). I plan on doing more of these... so this is just a beginning.

This image includes too many hours to count in OIII (for the inner Squid of this OU4 nebula). I will need to come back and note the actual exposure times.  I did incorporate the SII component in the Green channel in order to show its relevance. Its inclusion makes some of the otherwise red Ha emission look a little more orange. In addition, as is often desired, this image includes the real RGB stars blended in (hopefully you will agree tastefully).

Special thanks to Russell Croman for starting me off on the right foot.
