Description

I had superb seeing at last, and made multiple captures of Mars with the new dust storm close to the Central Meridian. This image is derived from the 1st 3 RGB runs. As you can see the resolution of detail is really good.

The dust has a distinctly yellow colour and has flowed further along the Vallis Marineris. The bright plume originating at Juventae Fons, where all this action was originally seen in Ethan Chappel's image, seems to be spreading towards the north. On the p side of this plume there is a general murkiness over the Xanthe and Chyrse regions. The dust has also spread south over the Aurorae Sinus region and can be seen pooling in the valleys and low lying terrain there.

Again there is a lot of cloud around the equatorial regions particularly on the f limb, but it is interesting to see two swathes towards the south which are relatively cloud free. These were very obvious in the Blue image.
