Description

This object is a tiny obscure planetary nebula located 6000 light years away in the constellation of Serpens at a declination of -5 degrees. This PN spans 45 arc-seconds, which looks slightly larger than the planet Jupiter to our apparent view. The actual diameter of this PN is about 1.3 light years.

I couldn’t find anything on this object in the literature. I imaged it because I liked how it sits next to a series of dark nebulae. It has a typical PN look, with a bright red Ha rim that surrounding a bluish OIII central region. The rim is narrower and more sharply defined left and right, and more diffuse top and bottom. The bluish central star is plainly visible.
