Description

Certainly one of the most distinctive edge-on galaxies in the sky, this spiral beauty in Andromeda hosts HII regions in its nucleus, and spans an impressive 120,000 light years in diameter. Photons from this giant travel for 27 million years before gracing our optic nerves.
