Title: NGC 4216 and 4206 using new processes in PixInsight
Description:
The data is not especially old, being from early 2022, but newer processes now available were used. The main changes were as follows:
1) Normalize Scale Gradient instead of standard reject and combine.
2) Spectrophotometric color calibration instead of standard color calibration.
3) Blur Exterminator instead of PI Lucy Richardson Deconvolution.
4) Noise Exterminator instead of MMT noise reduction.
There were a few other minor differences (such as less aggressive LHE and sharpening) but most of those were due to the fact that Blur and Noise Exterminator made those less necessary.
The overall color is more accurate with better blue in the outer galactic areas. The detail in the spiral arms is also pretty clearly less "clumpy" and less artificial looking.
Note that I cropped the image more as well to better see the principal galaxies.
