Hello everybody....hope you are fine!! Im very happy around here !!

So I finally invested at ST 8300 CCD mono camera with QHYCFW2 Filter Wheel + 36 mm LRGBHa filters... I think when the camera (or any gear) was more than ten years old, I begin to think of buy it! I love very much vintage equipment :-)

I made this image just for testing, I couldnt hang my anxiety, the wheather around here is very foggy with campfires...so, its just 4x 4minutes each LRGB channel image...I have to get a coma corrector which works, because the Baader MPCC mark III turned the stars into mushrooms!

Im feel like beggining from zero..Its just like my first astrophotos...very strange pictures, have to deal with the colors, but it is an amazing feeling...a fresh start...! Now I have the gear to make SHO or HaLRGB pictures , but didnt have all the pieces joined together (yet...)...

But...who knows I will could surpass my 47Tucanae last image with this gear someday?

I know it was 6 hours of good olde 450d DSLR subs, but I liked that result very much RC8 + 450D...now its a little chill at my spine...so much money (at least for me) invested and didnt know how this camera + 10 " F/4 scope + strong light pollution will perform...

Sooo...lets gonna learn...:-)

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
