Description

Here we have a couple of smaller satellite galaxies of M31, NGC 147 and NGC185. I thought they make a nice visual pair in the starfield so I thought I would try to see what I could do with this in a semi widefield image.

NGC 185 is an interesting dwarf spheroidal galaxy because it appears to have a greater rate of star formation than other similar galaxies. It is also though to have a very active galactic nucleus and may in fact be a Type 2 Seyfert galaxy, which would make it the closest Seyfert galaxy to us at about 2.08 million ly.

NGC 147 is further away at about 2.5 million ly away and is larger than its partner but more diffuse. There does not appear to have been any significant star forming within the last 3b years.

I hope you like this one, clear skies and good health!
