Description

Data : Bundle (pro dataset) bought on Telescope Live, made of 9 one-clicks observations taken from March to October 2021 with CHI-1 telescope at El Sauce Observatory, Chile.

FOV is about 30x30 minutes and scale is 0.62"/pix.

Within the Corona Australis molecular cloud which is one of the closest star-forming regions to us, only about 430 light years away, the complex of reflection nebulae cataloged as NGC 6726, 6727, and IC 4812 produce a characteristic blue color as light from the region’s young hot stars is reflected by the cosmic dust.
The dust also obscures from view stars still in the process of formation.

Near center, the smaller yellowish nebula NGC 6729, which is both reflection and emission nebula, bends around young variable star R Coronae Australis. Close to it, glowing arcs and loops shocked by outflows from embedded newborn stars are identified as Herbig-Haro objects. The most remarquables of them are HH100, just left to NGC6729, and HH101 which shows the classical reddish tint a little bit upper, and several others can be found through dust (little red spots).

@Terry Robison made a great work about the evolution of HH100 here : https://www.astrobin.com/mvjjb9/?nc=user

I really love the contrast is these kind of cosmic scenes between colours of blue reflection nebulae and dark/brown colours of clouds, the all embellished here by yellowish and reddish tints from many objects.
To be mentionned that stars color in the field is affected by the strong presence of dust.
