Description

This object is known as Messier 45 (M45), The Pleiades Cluster, also known as The Seven Sisters.  This image was taken using a ZWO ASI2600MM Pro Monochrome camera, using a Stellarvue SVX102T refractor telescope, and was riding on a Losmandy G11 mount.  The data captured was processed in the LRGB palette with a total of 17 hours across all four channels (roughly 4 hours per channel).

Surrounding this cluster of the hottest blue stars are gas and dust that the star cluster happens to be passing through.  The object is roughly 440 light years away. This is my 2022 installation of this object, and I add new data each year to the project.  Once I crossed the 11 hour mark or so, you can start to see even fainter dust around the areas not dominated by blue light.  My goal is to get enough data to make this very faint dust pop right out!
