Description

The Horsehead Nebula is a small clump of gas from a much larger cloud in the constellation Orion. The bright star to the left of the horse head is Alnitak, the left-most star in Orion's Belt. The glowing white region just below is fluorescing due to a star embedded in the cloud, and the flame nebula, a bit to the left is an active star nursery.
