Description

Imaged on nights of 9/4/2020, 9/5/2020, 9/15/2020.

Abell 4 is a Planetary Nebula in the constellation Perseus. It is one of the brighter PNs at magnitude 14.8. Both Ha and Oiii are strongly represented, with Oiii 3 times stronger than Ha. It is the third smallest PN with a diameter of only .3 arcminute or 22 arcseconds, is perfectly round, with some non-uniform detail apparent.

The Ha and Oiii are strong enough that the RGB image alone shows a very prominent image of the PN. I have added a little of the Oiii and Ha using exactly the same color mix as the RGB to strengthen the image a little bit.

And basically zero info on this PN can be found on the web.

There are 9 nice but tiny edge on spiral galaxies nearby, plus a face on near the bottom.
