Description

This is a wide-field view of the Running Chicken Nebula downloaded from Telescope Live and taken in NB from NSW Australia with an FSQ-106ED/FLI PL16803. There's not a lot of data (only 2 1/2 hours of subs @450s) but the quality was pretty good.
The Running Chicken Nebula lies in the Southern constellation of Centaurus and lies at a distance of around 6,500 light-years from Earth. The nebula itself has a lot of H-Alpha, a medium amount of SII, and a lesser amount of OIII. There are a lot of hot newborn stars that shine brightly in ultraviolet light which excites the surrounding gases. Also embedded within the nebula are numerous Bok globules where stars are forming within.
Anyway, hope ya like it!
Tom
