Description

M29 is a small (diameter 7’) open cluster in Cygnus constellation.
It is characterized by the presence of 7 bright stars but the total number of stars is about 50.
It is not so striking neither in photo nor at visual observation: the reason is the strong interstellar dust present in this part of the sky which absorb its light. Also for this reason there is some uncertainty in the calculation of M29 distance: the value most accredited is about 7200 light years.
